[:nl]Op 24, 25 & 26 mei organiseert studentenbond VIDIUS voor de tweede keer de Week van de Utrechtse Huisbaas (WUHB). Pijke Dorrestein, voorzitter VIDIUS: “Wij organiseren deze week om de goede huisbazen in het zonnetje te zetten en aandacht te vragen voor huisjesmelkers die het voor de rest verpesten”.
In deze week worden alle kanten van studentenhuisvesting belicht, zoals absurde huurprijzen, het grote kamertekort en duurzaamheid. Alle onderwerpen komen aan bod. Het klapstuk van de WUHB is de verkiezing van de beste huisbaas van Utrecht. Bij deze verkiezing valt prijzenpot ter waarde van meer dan 1000 euro te winnen. Er worden in de WUHB drie activiteiten georganiseerd.
Informatiemarkt
Studenten betalen vaak nog te veel huur. Naast de universiteitsbibliotheek op De Uithof zal op de dinsdag 23 mei en woensdag 24 mei een informatiemarkt worden georganiseerd. Hier hebben studenten de mogelijkheid om in gesprek te gaan met experts van het Huurteam Utrecht en VIDIUS rechtshulp. Studenten kunnen gratis hun huurprijs checken, vragen stellen over huurrecht en informatie inwinnen over het aanvechten van hun huurprijs.
Debat “de toekomst van studentenhuisvesting”
Op de dinsdagavond 23 mei vindt een debat plaats over de toekomst van studentenhuisvesting. In het debat komen onderwerpen aanbod als duurzaamheid, toekomstige locaties voor studentenhuisvestiging en de waarde van studenten voor Utrecht als stad. Op deze avond gaan onder andere Paulus Jansen (Wethouder Wonen Gemeente Utrecht), Jaspers Smit (vicevoorzitter JOVD Utrecht) en Cor Verkade (Vastgoed Belang) in debat over verschillende stellingen.
De beste huisbaas van Utrecht
De Week van de Utrechtse Huisbaas wordt afgesloten met de verkiezing van beste huisbaas van Utrecht op donderdag 26 mei. De verkiezing is bedoeld om goede huisbazen te belonen. “Goede huisbazen zorgen voor prettige, betaalbare kamers waar studenten fijn kunnen wonen. Zij verdienen meer aandacht omdat ze heel goed werk verrichten,” stelt Pijke Dorrestein. Er zijn drie prijzen te winnen waaronder de hoofdprijs, een verbouwing door Verhuisbedrijf Utrecht. Zij stellen twee man één dag ter beschikking om het winnende huis flink op te knappen. Studenten kunnen hun huisbaas tot 26 mei nomineren via: http://vidius.nl/huisbaas.

In this week all aspects of student housing are exposed, like ridiculous rental prices ,immense lack of rooms and durability. All subjects are on the program. The highlight of the WUHB is the election for the best landlord in Utrecht. At this election you can win more than 1000 euros. They are also organising three other activities.
Information market
Students still pay too much rent. On tuesday 23 and 24 of May there will be an information market next to the university library at the Uithof. They offer students the possibility to talk to the experts of the Utrecht rental team and VIDIUS. Students can check their room prices for free, ask questions about Dutch rental law and gather information about how to go to court with the rental price.
Debate “the future of student housing”
Tuesday night the 23 of May takes a debate place about the future of student housing. During the debate subjects like durability, possible locations for student housing and the value of students in Utrecht as a city. During the debate Paulus Jansen (Alderman living in Utrecht), Jaspers Smit (vice president JOVD Utrecht) en Cor Verkade (Real estate manager) are discussing various thess.
The best landlord in Utrecht
The week organised for the landlords ends with the election of the best landlord in Utrecht on Thursday 26 May. The election is intended for friendly landlords. “Friendly landlords provide a good atmosphere, affordable rooms where students can live. They deserve more appreciation because they really help students,” says Pijke Dorrestein.There are three prices and the highest price is a renovation by Verhuisbedrijf Utrecht.
